Henry County Recent Arrest Channels
Every new booking in Henry County goes through the county jail. The Sheriff's Corrections Division runs it around the clock. What the county does not offer is a stand-alone 24-hour or weekly arrest feed, so no single page lists every arrest as it happens. The official entry point is the Corrections Division page, where an "Inmate Roster" control opens in a popup. A name missing there proves nothing. Intake delays, bond review, data entry, release, and transfer all shape what any one moment shows.
Match the source to the question. The roster and the Sheriff app track current custody. VINE reports custody events. Iowa Courts Online follows a filed case, and a dated request to the Sheriff can pull an older booking record.
| View | Actual window | Best use | Photo status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roster popup | No schedule published | Current jail entry | Not confirmed |
| Sheriff app | Current inmate information | Charges and bond | Not confirmed |
| Same-day view | No official 24-hour feed | Roster, app, phone fallback | No policy found |
| Multi-day view | No official blotter | News, court, records comparison | Varies |
The Arrests Last 24 Hours page covers the same-day route in detail. For a wider view, the Police Blotter page separates official records from news coverage and unofficial rolling listings.
Countywide Booking Custody Chain
Henry County opened its current jail in 2019. It holds 96 beds. County dispatch serves the Sheriff along with municipal police in Mount Pleasant, New London, Wayland, and Winfield. A city arrest and a county booking are two separate acts. They can leave two separate records. Police keep the incident material. The jail keeps intake and custody data, and the court holds the filed case.
That split is why one search rarely settles a question. Start with the jail for custody and bond. Ask the arresting department for its incident record. Check the docket for the charge and outcome. When custody moves to an Iowa prison, the Iowa Department of Corrections takes over from the county roster.
Henry County Roster Popup Limits
Begin at the official Corrections Division page and select its Inmate Roster control. The county site offers no stable roster address, public search form, feed endpoint, or update time, so a guessed roster link would only mislead.
| Roster item | Verified finding |
|---|---|
| Access | A popup control exists |
| Charges | Advertised in the official app |
| Bond | Advertised in the app; confirm by phone |
| Name and booking fields | Public fields not documented |
| Agency, court, release | Public display not verified |
| Booking photo | Web and app display unconfirmed |
Work the roster in a short sequence. Open the official page, activate the popup, and check any match against the spelling and date you already know. If it fails, try the app and call the jail at (319) 385-2712. VINE can send release or transfer alerts. For older bookings, request a dated official record.
Note: A jail that operates continuously does not necessarily refresh its public roster in real time.
Sheriff App Charges and Bond
The Henry County Sheriff Iowa app is an official alternate channel. The county's own roster notice says it provides inmate charges and bond. Its Google Play listing and Apple listing also mention public-safety news. They add communication, crime reports, and tips too. It is not an emergency service.
Nothing official promises booking photos inside the app. Treat it as a charges-and-bond tool rather than a mugshot gallery. Confirm any bond with the jail before acting. For custody changes, the VINELink Custody Check page explains Henry County's notification route.
Official and Secondary Record Sources
Go to official sources first. Each channel covers one stage, and none should be stretched past that role. Local journalism can add event context and an aggregator can suggest a date or spelling, but neither replaces the Sheriff's booking file or the court's disposition.
| Channel | Photos? | Status | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corrections roster | Not verified | Official | Popup |
| Sheriff app | Not verified | Official | iOS/Android |
| Sheriff records | Request one | Official | Civil Office form |
| Iowa Courts Online | No | Official | Name/case search |
| IDOC search | Can appear | Official state | State custody search |
| KILJ/SE Iowa Union | Story dependent | News | Event reports |
| RecentlyBooked Henry | Some entries | Unofficial | Rolling secondary list |
Among aggregators, only RecentlyBooked has a Henry County-specific section. BustedNewspaper, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone list no valid local section, and secondary records can lag or carry old images that differ from official data. The KILJ local news page shows how the area's incidents get independent coverage.
News stories can flag an event and an agency. They are not an arrest roster or proof of an outcome.
Confirm Henry County Arrest Bonds
Henry County posts a direct bond-fraud warning beside its roster. Call the jail at (319) 385-2712 to confirm a current bond. The Sheriff's warning is plain. The office will never call asking for bail-bond money. Bonds are posted in person at the Sheriff's Office or the courthouse. An amount shown online can shift. A hearing, an added charge, a hold, or a court order can all change it. Verify the figure and the method through the official number, never an incoming call. Bond is a release condition while the case proceeds. It is nothing more than that.
Henry County Arrests by City
The city pages follow the three largest incorporated places from the 2020 Census, not arrest volume. City police create their own incident records while Sheriff systems carry the shared county custody route.
- Mount Pleasant Recent Arrests covers the city police and jail route.
- New London Recent Arrests covers city contact and county dispatch.
- Winfield Recent Arrests covers part-time policing and the after-hours Sheriff route.
The Census incorporated-place table supports that selection.
The capture documents population ranking, not crime or enforcement activity.
Inside a Henry Booking Record
One booking record may be scattered across jail, police, VINE, and court systems. Request the piece you need. A field absent from the popup can still sit in the Sheriff file, subject to Iowa law.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name/identifier | Identity used in custody; verify spelling |
| Booking date/time | Jail intake, not outcome |
| Arresting agency | Department that made the arrest |
| Charges as booked | Accusations, not convictions |
| Bond | Release terms requiring confirmation |
| Custody/release | Status when recorded |
| Booking photo | Image if public and released |
| Case/disposition | Filed case and later result |
Does roster absence erase a booking? No. The person may be released, transferred, or removed from public view, so ask for a dated record.
Henry County Mugshots and Arrest Photos
Booking photos stay off the public roster and app. The Henry County jail still photographs everyone it books. The image simply sits in the booking file rather than online. To request one, name the arrested person and the arrest date, then ask the office for the photograph if it can be released.
Iowa has no mugshot-specific publication ban and no pay-to-remove rule in its code. Release of any arrest photo turns on chapter 22, its exceptions, court orders, and protected categories. The state DOC may display a photo for a person held in state custody, though that is not a county booking photo search. RecentlyBooked republishes secondary copies of some booking images. Treat it as a last stop after official channels, never as proof that someone remains in custody. This page rehosts no booking photos.
Request a Henry Arrest Record
The official Sheriff records page links the required form and routes arrest record requests to the Civil Office. Be precise about what you need. The agency has no duty to build a custom report it does not already keep.
- Complete the linked Sheriff form.
- Name the person, date range, and agency.
- Ask for the booking record, charges, bond, custody events, and photo if releasable.
- Request electronic delivery if it exists electronically.
- Mail it or email civiloffice@henrycountyiowa.us.
- Pay the invoice and keep any redaction explanation.
Fees follow staff time and materials. The Sheriff bills work beyond 30 minutes, charges for copies and media, and wants full payment before release. No fixed photo price or turnaround is published. Records hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the Civil Division number is (319) 385-4652. The official request form shows the document used.
A narrow, dated request helps staff locate the booking and explain any withheld part.
Henry Records Fees Vary by Office
Fee rules differ from office to office. The Sheriff bills work over 30 minutes and requires prepayment. The county Board of Supervisors form grants two free research hours. IDOC waives its first 30 minutes before staff, copy, or redaction costs may apply.
Pick the custodian before you file. Sheriff booking files go to the Civil Office. City incident records belong to police. State-prison material goes to IDOC, and court documents to the Clerk. Ask for an estimate when a charge could apply. The trigger is the scope of an arrest record request. Chapter 22 opens the door to records. But it never forces an agency to compile something new.
Iowa Arrest Law and Protected Records
Iowa Code §22.2 opens most records to the public, and §22.4 allows several ways to file a request. But §22.7 carves out exceptions. Current and prior arrest records and criminal-history data stay public under §22.7(9), while criminal identification files can remain confidential.
Push for the segregable public part and the legal basis for each redaction. Chapter 22 sets no general retention term. Removal from a website is not legal deletion of the record. Older court files sometimes reach the State Historical Society. No modern public mugshot archive exists for Henry County.
Correcting Henry Arrest Information
Start with the source. Give the exact record or URL, the name, and the date. Add the disputed field and the change you want. Attach a dismissal or expungement order when one exists. Correction, restricted access, and destruction are three different outcomes. An agency may keep the underlying arrest record even after public access changes.
Iowa Code §901C.2 covers qualifying acquittals and dismissals of all charges. Those cases stay subject to payment, timing, and exclusions. Section 901C.3 reaches some misdemeanor convictions after more than eight years, with added limits. Eligibility is never automatic.
No order wipes copies from news sites, aggregators, or search caches. RecentlyBooked runs a free, documentation-based process for dismissal, sealing, wrong-person, juvenile, duplicate, or inaccurate records. Once a source changes, ask the search engine to refresh its results. Paying a middleman fixes nothing official and invites fraud.
Henry Warrant and Wanted Notices
Henry County offers no public warrant search and posts no official most-wanted list. There is no published count, photo policy, schedule, or reward program. Sheriff social media counts as an official channel. But an old post is not a live wanted roster.
Call the Sheriff at (319) 385-2712 for operational confirmation. Iowa Courts Online shows case events, and the Clerk can explain the docket. Neither one guarantees live warrant status. Anyone handling a personal case should talk to an attorney or the court. Never approach a wanted person. Dial 911 for danger and use Sheriff channels for tips.
Booking to Henry County Court
Booking starts a Henry County case. It never ends one. A first appearance and a bond decision may follow. A prosecutor can file a different charge than the one on the booking slip. From there the court may dismiss a count, enter a deferred judgment, accept a plea, hold a trial, or impose sentence. Those results live in court records, not the jail log.
Search Iowa Courts Online by name or case number and open the Case ID. The online docket is public case information rather than the official file. It omits sealed material. The Henry County Clerk supplies documents and certified copies.
Booked, Released, or Transferred
A person arrested in Henry County can pass through several systems. Matching the source to the stage keeps an old booking photo from being mistaken for current custody.
| Status | Best source | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Just booked | Roster, app, jail | May lag during intake |
| County custody | Roster, jail, VINE | Current status |
| Released/transferred | VINE, records request | Roster may no longer show it |
| State custody | IDOC | Not county intake |
| Federal custody | BOP/court/USMS | Separate system |
| ICE custody | ICE locator | Separate immigration system |
IDOC searches by name, birth date, sex, offender number, offense, county of commitment, and location. It may show an image. It never replaces the Henry booking file. BOP publishes no booking photos. USMS generally withholds prisoner photos, and ICE is not a mugshot source.
Older Henry County Arrest Records
Henry County publishes no fixed roster archive or stated retention span for booking records. Older events take patience. Ask for a record by person, date, agency, and exact type. Search court files separately. A case can survive long after jail custody data disappears.
The State Historical Society holds Henry clerk material from the 1830s into the early 1930s. That collection fits historical court research, not a hunt for a modern booking photo. Iowa Code §22.16 covers qualifying records at least a century old. It does not override sealing or create any mugshot archive.
Custodians stay divided in the modern era too. A city police report may describe the stop or the arrest itself. The county booking file shows acceptance into jail. The later docket tracks what prosecutors filed and how the judge ruled. Give archive staff a series and a date range. Give the Clerk a case number when you have one. For recent Sheriff material, use the Civil Office process. Do not assume historical staff control it. A 'no responsive record' reply deserves a second look. Confirm the agency, the spelling, and the time span first. Records often sit under variant names or split across incident, booking, and case systems.
What if a current search comes up empty? Refresh the roster, check the app and VINE. Call the jail. Search the court after filing. Request the dated booking record. Never fill a gap with an unverified post.
